Until you have held a tiny puppy in your arms as it kissed your face with slobbery puppy breath …and felt the love,

Until you have held an injured or severely ill dog in your arms …
and felt their pain

Until you have looked into the eyes of a tired aging senior dog …
and felt their wisdom,

And until you have seen and understood the look in your dogs eyes that tell you their time on earth with you is over .... and you humanely let them go,

You will never understand the life of a rescuer.

We find beauty in the most incomprehensible places and the otherwise homely faces.
It is our gift to see beyond the dirt, terror, sadness and defeat and find the true soul that lies within.

Welcome to our rescue website.

Sadly every breed has a need for a rescue and the Cane Corso is no exception. Still a relatively unknown breed in the UK but becoming more and more popular. Like many molosser breeds they are not a dog to be taken on lightly and need the correct handling, training and care.

We are committed to rescuing Cane Corsos in the UK (and other Molosser breeds) and finding suitable homes for them where they can live happily for the rest of their lives. There are all sorts of reasons Cane Corsos are re-homed as sometimes situations beyond anyone's control make it necessary for people to make the difficult decision to re-home their dog. Sometimes however, people purchase this breed for the wrong reasons and come to realise this breed is not suitable for them. In most situations, the breeders who sold these dogs will not help these people try and re-home the dog and people are left to re-home the dogs themselves.

Just a little background on me, the rescue & how it all began.....

I have always from the day I was born had dogs and other animals around me, as my parents lived in a small village where my mothers parents lived and all her brothers and sisters.
They all owned animals my Grand Parents worked with animals (Horse's & Pigs), they worked gundogs mainly Black Labs & my Dads Mother owned/ showed Chows/Great Danes & Alsatians as they were known as in those days, as far back as I can remember there were always Alsatians in our home.

I carried on the family tradition as I grew up & was always surrounded by animals, I had horses as I loved to ride & show, I had dogs which I trained & I started showing Boxers in my teens, I also bred three litters.

When I got my first Bullmastiff 30 years ago I started doing Bullmastiff Rescue with a friend Ann Boyd who had been in the breed from the day she was born and had very good show kennels of her own. We worked hard in those days trying to get help from breeders but they didn't want to know, they thought we were mad trying to rescue dogs.

Soon after I got my first Cane Corso I realised this breed needed rescue help as much as the other breeds and it went on from there, I also think the dogs that have been crossed with other breeds need help, after all it's not the dogs fault who it's parents are.

I work in boarding kennels to help pay the kennelling fees for the rescues and try to raise money along the way to pay for veterinary bills as well as food. I have had much support from individuals, donations, foster carers as well as the All Molosser Breed forum, without this support I would find it very hard to carry on & have to give my heartfelt thanks to all who help. I also have to say an extra big thank you to my husband, as without his support, patients & bank account I would have had to give up many years ago.

It has been very hard over the years & there have been many times when I felt I could no longer carry on, but for all the pain & suffering I have witnessed to see just one unloved, unwanted dog become happy & healthy in a caring & loving home makes it all worth while & so I carry on as I no doubt always will.

I hope that the rescue can grow with support as time goes on so that many more dogs can go to caring homes where they will get the love they not only need but deserve.

This poor Neo boy came from a scrap yard in a terrible state.

Here is the same boy after just a few months TLC!
